Tori and Dustin sitting in a tree

My sister Tori's fiance Dustin got home from Iraq yesterday! I got to be there when he got off the bus. And my stupid camera malfunctioned! AARRGGGGGG!!! I got one picture of the back of my Mom's hand with Tori and Dustin in the background!

Anyway, it was very sweet and they are so happy together. It's a very sweet story about how they met and became engaged, but it's really not my place to tell. I'll let Tori do that if she wants to.

Busy

I'm a terrible blogger. But I have an excuse. Kind of. I've been busy, wanna see?

Here's a new dress for Willow. It actually looks much better in person. We've had more snow and no good light for pictures. I don't think spring is ever going to come.

Look at all these Nature Babies! I took this picture right before I went over to Westwood Gardens and they took eight of my dolls on consignment! Woo Hoo! That made me happy.

I designed this image and digitized it and made it into an embroidery design.

Plus I am working on a lovely prom dress for a lovely young lady from church. And I sold my first international item in my shop. I get to ship to Germany! What fun. So yes, I've been busy.

I feel the love

I was tagged by Dawn at UK lass in US for a 'you make my day' meme thingy. Do you know what this means? It means someone besides Mom and Tori read this thing! I feel so loved.
So now I have to list 7 random things about myself and tag 7 other bloggers that make my day.

1. I got married at 18.5 and I've been married for 8.5 years. How's your math?
2. I've had cataracts since I was 19.
3. My kids names are Willow and Violet, I hang my clothes on a clothesline, I have an organic garden, I go barefoot most of the summer, I make my own laundry soap, I homeschool my kids, but I do not consider myself a hippy.
4. When I hit my funny bone I pass out.
5. I love sunshine.
6. I wear skirts most of the time. I hate pants, I don't look good or feel good in pants, I only wear them when I have to.
7. I don't own a TV, but we do watch movies on the computer.

Now I'll tag:
Lola Again
Thoughts of an incurable mid-westerner
The homespun heart
Apple n Eve
Crafty Carnival
One Red Robbin
Kristina More Photography

I actually know 7 bloggers! Wow!

Princesses

After Conference on Saturday the girls needed some fun. So we made tutus, turned on the music and danced all over the living room!

Then we watched "Happy working song" . I'll say it again. I love having girls!

Lost

Willow lost her first tooth!

She is so excited. The funny thing is, she was wiggling it in bed and she pushed it forward with her tongue and it flipped out of her mouth and landed somewhere in her bedroom and we can't find it! It really is lost! Oh well, the tooth fairy came anyway, but I really wanted to save it!

Willow is getting so big, I can't believe it. Not only did she lose her first tooth, but she went into a public bathroom by herself this week and outgrew all her dresses. So I have some sewing to do. I figure I need to make 6 dresses to replace the ones I took out of her closet. Here's the first one. I made up my own pattern to work with the fabric I had. It was not quite enough for anything else!

I might try to make some pants for her too, but she's so picky about her pants I may not even bother.

Skirt

Here is the skirt mentioned here.

I went shopping at Kohls and they had racks and racks of winter clearance at 80%! WooHoo! I found this cute red sweater for $5.10, but I had nothing to wear with it. I searched all over, but there were about 4 skirts in the whole store and 3 of them were too short. Then I went to Fashion bug, but no luck there either.
After long last and two cranky kids who did not want to be shoved in a dressing room again I went to Hancocks and found the perfect fabric.

I used this tutorial for a wrap skirt ( here and here). It took 1 hour and 8 minutes including cutting and making the girls some toast in the middle. And best of all, it cost $10 to make. :D

I have some red shoes that match perfectly, but this picture was taken on Sunday, and it had just snowed 18 inches, so I wore boots.
